Arlington Public Schools has 23 elementary schools, which include a blend of neighborhood and option schools/programs.
Kindergarten Information Night was held on January 22, 2018 at 7 p.m., at Washington-Lee High School (1301 N. Stafford Street Arlington, VA 22201), where families learned about the registration process and learn more about their neighborhood and option schools for the 2018-19 school year. Every student is guaranteed admission to the neighborhood school designated by their home address. Use the School Boundary (Attendance Zone) Locator to find out which school is designated as your neighborhood school.
Option Schools/Programs provide specialized instructional programs. APS:
- Provides equitable access to option schools/programs for all students, including students with disabilities and English learners;
- Provides a rational and transparent process for admission to option schools/programs, which is differentiated to support the integrity of the instructional models;
- Offers preschool at each of the elementary option schools/programs; and
- Adjusts enrollment levels at the option schools/programs as needed.
Options/Transfers Information for the 2018-19 school year will be available prior to the SB-adopted application time-frame of Feb. 1 to April 16, 2018.
