Information on Expiring Procurement Contracts

At Arlington Public Schools, we are committed to fostering a culture of transparency, where our community can stay informed about the decisions and agreements that impact our students, staff, and families. In line with this commitment, we will now share contracts up for renewal quarterly on the Engage with APS webpage.

The goal of sharing this information is to establish an open and accessible channel of communication that allows the community to better understand the contracts and agreements that drive the operations of APS. By keeping the community in the loop about upcoming contract renewals, we hope to ensure that everyone has the information needed to actively participate in ensuring the operational excellence of the school division.

Quarterly Contract Information

As part of our renewed focus on transparency, APS will provide information online about contracts that are set to expire on a quarterly basis. Keeping the community informed about upcoming contract renewals is crucial. It empowers everyone to remain engaged and have a say in important decisions that impact the future of the school division.

Why This Matters

APS values the insights and contributions of all community members. By providing the community with information on expiring contracts, APS aims to enable everyone to actively participate in shaping the future of APS. This new process enables the community to stay engaged and informed about the school division’s contractual commitments.

Expiring Contracts

APS advertises all contract solicitations on eVA and on the APS Procurement Office website. eVA is the Commonwealth of Virginia’s electronic procurement system, an electronic marketplace that maximizes competition by allowing vendors from within the U.S. to register to receive information about solicitations posted by Virginia public bodies. APS does not actively solicit bids or give preferential treatment to any current or prospective provider during this process.

A minimum of six-months prior to the expiration of the contract, the Procurement Office will contact the department listed that is responsible for the contract to start discussing the process of putting in place a replacement contract(s).

The following contracts are due to expire through March 31, 2024, and have no renewal contract terms remaining.
